Footgolf, born in the Netherlands in 2009, is a fusion of football and golf and has already enjoyed considerable success all over the world. The aim is to hit (with your feet) a soccer ball (size 5) to send it into a hole with a diameter of about 50 cm in the least number of strokes possible. Generally it is played on 9 or 18 hole courses on specially adapted golf courses. The holes are positioned so as not to damage the course and allow both golfers and foot golfers to play on the same course without special maintenance. Many of the rules of this sport correspond to those of golf; for example the par, ie the number of strokes necessary to finish the course is the same (72 strokes for an 18-hole round).
